National optical retailer Eyemart Express, known for affordable eyewear and same-day service, donated nearly $100,000 worth of new frames and glasses accessories to EyeCare4Kids on Oct. 9 in conjunction with World Sight Day.
EyeCare4Kids, a Glendale-based nonprofit organization, provides free eye exams and glasses to children in low-income communities across Arizona.
This contribution of 834 frames and 2,001 eyewear accessories will help thousands of children in the state gain access to clear vision, giving them the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
“Far too many children in underserved communities struggle in school simply because they cannot see clearly,” Maggie Cline, CEO of EyeCare4Kids, stated in a press release. “This generous donation from Eyemart Express helps us break down barriers for these kids, ensuring they have the same opportunities as their peers to learn, grow, and thrive.”
EyeCare4Kids provides free vision screenings, comprehensive eye exams, and glasses to children who otherwise may not have access to care. Since its founding in 2001, the nonprofit has provided more than 500,000 vision care services to families in Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Africa.
Eyemart Express partners with nonprofit groups across the country to bridge gaps in essential eye care for underserved communities.
“At Eyemart Express, we believe that everyone deserves the gift of clear vision,” Eyemart Express Co-President and General Counsel Jason Shanks stated. “We are proud to support EyeCare4Kids in their mission to bring critical eye care services to Arizona children, and we hope this donation is just the start of unlocked possibilities for them.”
