ELECTION 2025

Deer Valley Unified M&O override election tally opens wider margin

Latest unofficial numbers still close, but ‘yes’ votes gain more ground

The latest numbers from Maricopa County Elections continue to show a different trend from years past with regards to Deer Valley Unified School District’s maintenance and operations budget override.

Since Election Day this past Tuesday, “yes” votes have been outpacing “no” votes on the override budget ballot question, albeit by slim margins. As recently as Wednesday evening just 799 votes separated the two, but the latest unofficial numbers on Thursday night show out of more than 47,000 ballots, a difference of some 1,217 votes now favor the “yes” votes.

The same M&O override initiative failed at the ballot box the past two consecutive Novembers, in 2024 and 2023.
