Comic artist brings program with autistic hero to Glendale

Yvonne Wan, creator of Focus Comics, which features one of the world’s first autistic super heroes will host a free art program for children of heroes (first responders and military representative) plus autistic and special needs children and young adults, ages 6-21.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the small meeting room in Glendale Main Library, 5959 W. Brown St.

Students will learn how to color and or draw Focus, the autistic super hero and hero vehicles. Hero Vehicles include the Glendale Fire Department and Rural Metro Fire trucks, Luke Air Force F35 fighter jet, MCSO Pony or US Navy Larc-V (Lighter, Amphibious, Resupply, Cargo vehicle).

The class is free, and access to the art supplies will be free to. Students will receive gifts upon completion of their art work in class.

Each assignment should take approximately 15 to 45 minutes depending on the student’s abilities.
