BLT Kitchens opens Glendale space to prep food

Posted

BLT Kitchens opened its third commercial kitchen location Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 6727 N. 47th Ave., in Glendale.

Its two other locations in Phoenix and Mesa have seen growth in the past three years with more than 250 food business tenants utilizing the shared space to prep their products for food trucks, farmers market vendors, and restaurant/ retail products.

“We’re excited to launch our third location and look forward to helping entrepreneurs in the West Valley succeed. There’s a huge need in the food industry for commercial kitchens to provide low overhead and resources for new and small brands,” stated Kyle Hollenbeck, co-owner, BLT Kitchens, in a press release.

To celebrate the third BLT Kitchen opening, the company is launching an Entrepreneurship Grant program where three businesses will win an opportunity for professional support to launch their food brands.

Entrepreneurship Grant applications are open through Oct. 30. Start-up businesses can apply online here.

The first place winner will receive a $30,000 grant package that provides for one year of free kitchen space at BLT Kitchen (40 hours per month), two large secure storage racks and exclusive mentorship/support.

A one-year free lease is valued at $25,000. The mentorship package is valued at $5,000.

Tom D’Ambrosio, the owner and Chopped winner, will provide insights on food preparation and menu design, and tips on navigating permits and regulations.

Kyle Hollenbeck will teach the ins and outs of starting and operating a food business and sales strategies.

Baron Cox, an account manager, will provide guidance on permit acquisition and the submitting of permits.

Bran Johnson, creative director, provides brands with personalized marketing and branding strategies to attract and retain customers.

Jen Pruett, public relations, provides media training and support with initial brand media coverage.

The second place winner receives a $1,000 credit toward signing costs. This credit will offset initial expenses when signing up for a lease at BLT Kitchens.

The third place winner receives a $500 credit toward signing costs with a space at BLT Kitchens, providing a helpful boost for your new venture.

Applicants are invited to submit a detailed business proposal or a creative video pitch explaining why their food business deserves this opportunity. Highlight the vision, goals, and what sets the business apart.

Winners will be announced Nov. 15. For information on rates and to book a tour, visit online.
