THINGS TO DO
All ages welcome to make Glendale library rock sculpture
(City of Glendale)
August's multi-generational art program at Foothills Branch Library in Glendale is about making rock art.
Posted
Once a month, Glendale's Foothills Branch Library plays host to an Art for Everyone program, for expressive art making.
The August program is about rock decorating and will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 in the library, 19055 N. 57th Ave. Registration for a spot opens at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 at a link found on this page.
This multigenerational program encourages everyone to try something new, whether that be making a sculpture out of discarded treasures, collaborating with others to make a doodle masterpiece, or flinging paint.
This month, create a big, rock snake friend to decorate the landscaping near the entrance of our library. Each participant will be given several rocks that they can decorate with designs of their choosing.
Participants can take finished creations home, or donate them to the library to help us create a collaborative, community-made art project.
Adults and kids should bring clothes that can get messy. The library will bring the supplies. Families and multigenerational community members are welcome.
