The constable district mainly includes the Gilbert area, county officials said.
The vacancy will be filled by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.
By law, the appointee must be a Republican, like Palmer, live in the Highland Justice Precinct and be a registered Arizona voter.
The appointee will fill the position through the remainder of the term.
Anyone interested in the position can send their letters of interest along with a resume to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors by email at clerkboard@maricopa.gov or by direct mail to Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 301 W. Jefferson, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. March 29.
All documents filed with the clerk's office will become public records. Applicants are subject to a background check, according to a release from the county.
