Water service will not be interrupted, but water will be rerouted through other lines, which can cause temporary discoloration at taps. Officials said the water remains safe to use.
Town staff will flush the system to clear discoloration, which typically resolves within a few hours. Residents whose water remains discolored after several hours can call 480-503-6400 or submit a request through Gilbert 311 under the “Water – Quality (Brown Water)” category.
Brown water impacts are expected from Dec. 15 to Dec. 22 and again in April 2026.
Traffic restrictions will be in place for the duration of the project. Drivers can expect lane closures of up to two lanes in each direction and turn restrictions at intersections as needed.
