With four members preparing to leave office, Gilbert Town Council's final retreat with its current membership ended with expressions of respect and appreciation among colleagues who have sometimes disagreed.
Councilmembers Yung Koprowski, Jim Torgeson, Chuck Bongiovanni and Bobbi Buchli will leave office when the new council is seated. Koprowski did not seek reelection, while Torgeson, Bongiovanni and Buchli were defeated in July's primary election.
The reflections followed a day of discussions about Gilbert's financial challenges, potential new revenue sources, public safety, utility rates and other priorities that will carry over to the incoming council.
