Florence's Game & Grub Night set for March 16

Posted

Game & Grub Night, the monthly family friendly event featuring music, food trucks and recreational games,  takes place this weekend.

This month, Game & Grub Night runs from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 16  at Padilla Park, 420 N. Quartz St.

“This is a new community event created by Community Services and while it’s just in its infancy we are very excited to see it grow into a new town tradition,” said Erasmo Mendivil, recreation coordinator for the town, when the program debuted in January. “Our Community Service Advisory Board wanted to create a food truck-themed event to bring our community together and generate new businesses and recreational activities for our residents. We hope this event will create a new attraction for local families and allow our residents to sample new food that otherwise may not be available nearby.”

The event is free, and the goal is to have three to five food trucks at the site of each Game & Grub Night.

The owners of food trucks and other mobile units who want to participate in Game & Grub Night are invited to contact the town at 520-868-7040.
