Florence Town Council Candidates: Arthur Neal

Posted

A former Pinal County sheriff's employee and current campus security official is vying for a spot on the Florence Town Council.

Arthur "Snake" Neal is one of eight people running for three seats on the council.

Independent Newsmedia reached out to each candidate via email to garner their goals for running for council.

Read Mr. Neal's response below:

I was born and raised in Florence. I graduated from Florence High School in 1996 and went to Eastern Arizona College on a football scholarship.

hen I returned to Florence I began working with my older brother at the Pinal County Sheriff's Department. I retired after 20 years of service in 2017 and have worked for Florence Unified School District as campus security ever since.

I currently am security at Florence K-8 where my wife of 20 years works as a 1st grade teacher. Together we have 10 children ages 20-4. Our lives are fully integrated into the  Florence community and we want to help make it the best.

Some of the things I want to work on would be the small businesses and getting them support in our community and surrounding communities. I want to see growth in the Anthem Area (business wise) and continued growth of houses in Old Town Florence. Revive old town with many activities that showcase our history and allow people to interact with each other, especially things that will involve the youth and getting them off their phones and gaming systems.
