Two members of the Florence Police Department have been honored by Pinal County.

Officer Lisa Celaya, who won Community Engagement Officer of the Year, and Officer Luis Barrientos, who was nominated for Officer of the Year, were honored last week at the  Pinal County Attorney's Office Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner, according to a post on the town’s Facebook page.

Also attending the event was Florence Mayor Tara Walter, Councilmember Nicole Buccellato and Florence Police Chief Bruce Walls. They were joined by Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer.

Also recognized at the event was Florence resident Tina Brown, who was nominated for Community Member of the Year and Sophie Dessart with Florence Copper, who was nominated as Community Member of the Year.
