Waymo expands into Gilbert, Mesa, but West Valley not in plans yet

Waymo, the driverless ride-hailing service, is again expanding its service in the East Valley, but the company is quiet on any plans to add the West Valley to its circulation.

The Mountain View, Calif.-based company said it is adding another 55 square miles to its service territory bringing in more areas in East Valley including Gilbert, parts of Chandler and San Tan Ranch.

There are plans to add connections to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in the Mesa in what the release called a timeframe that would be "soon."
