Vote yes on Chandler term-limits charter amendment
Proposition 410 amends the Chandler City Charter to reinforce the number of terms for the Mayor and Councilmembers in effect since the original Charter was adopted in 1965.
Simply put, a YES vote on 410 continues the practice of experienced Councilmembers running and serving for up to two terms as Mayor after completing two terms on the City Council.
That has been the historical norm for most previous Mayors, including the current one.

A deliberately misleading legal ruling “suddenly” found the Charter “required” a break between serving on the Council and as Mayor. This was never intended by the Charter or those who voted for it originally, or any subsequent amendments.
This tortured, self-serving “interpretation” is nothing more than a back-room effort by those most loudly calling for government transparency to stack the deck and pick their guy the winner of the next election for Mayor without having to actually face the voters or another prepared, qualified candidate.
If Prop 410 doesn’t prevail, voters will be denied a genuine choice for mayor in the 2026 city election.
Don’t be fooled by the disinformation and hypocritical twisting of facts that will undoubtedly flood the media, social, and otherwise, in the coming days. Prop 410 does not change or increase the established terms of the mayor or councilmembers.
Claiming otherwise is a blatantly dishonest distortion of reality.
Vote YES on Prop 410 when you receive your ballot for a legitimate choice in the election for mayor of Chandler.
