Suspect injured in Chandler PD officer-involved shooting

Chandler police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred just before 11:30 p.m. Friday.
The suspect received treatment after the shooting, which took place in the 7400 block of West Chandler Boulevard, police said. No officers were injured.
The scene was secured shortly after the shooting, and police stated in a release that “there is no threat to the community at this time.”
Just before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to 7475 W. Chandler Blvd. regarding a domestic violence incident.
Officers contacted the suspect on the southwest side of the property, and they said he “immediately began shooting at them.”
Officers returned fire, striking the suspect who remains in critical condition at a hospital, police said.
The victim stemming from the original call is receiving treatment for injuries that were not gunshot related, police said.
