Stewart: Why I should be the next District 1 Maricopa County Supervisor

Posted

I am Mark Stewart — a Chandler City Council member, business owner and family man. I am running to represent you on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.

As someone deeply rooted in our vibrant community and invested in the success of the Valley, I understand the importance of an efficient, responsive government that reflects the values and needs of its residents.

I’ve dedicated my time on Council as vice mayor and council member to supporting public safety, creating spaces for community engagement, and fostering economic growth.

With the right leadership, Maricopa County can become an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. I will always ask: “Is this right for my neighbors?”

Three Core Priorities: Public Safety, Transparency, and Exceptional Service

1) Public Safety: Safe communities are the backbone of any thriving region. I have consistently advocated for public safety, approving the hiring of additional police officers and increasing their compensation to improve morale and retention.

We ensure they have the resources, training, and respect they deserve. Retention in law enforcement and emergency services starts with a culture of support, and as a supervisor, I will champion policies that empower those who work tirelessly to protect us.

A visible, proactive stance on public safety will create a safer, more stable environment for everyone in Maricopa County.

2) Transparency and trust: I am committed to creating a trustworthy, transparent Board of Supervisors that the community can rely on.

Citizens should feel like actual stakeholders in county decisions, informed and assured that every move the board makes is in the community’s best interest.

Transparency builds trust and I am determined to ensure every resident feels secure in their county’s governance.

3. Outstanding customer service: The county government should operate as a service-driven business where residents are treated as valued customers.

Just as I have done in Chandler, I will work to instill a service culture within the county government. County services should be efficient, accessible, and respectful of taxpayers’ contributions.

As a business owner, I know the importance of excellent customer service and accountability. If elected, I would ensure that all county services — from road maintenance to community programming — are delivered in a manner that meets the community’s needs and expectations.

Experience that counts

Chandler has become a shining example of what innovative, fiscally responsible governance can accomplish. We’ve built safe roads, great parks, and an innovative economy by focusing on efficiency and community impact.

My time on the city council has given me unique insight into the needs and values of Maricopa County’s residents, from public safety to infrastructure. I am ready to bring that experience to the Board of Supervisors.

I am committed to creating a county government that serves every resident with integrity, accountability, and excellence.

With your support, I will bring Maricopa County into a new era of effective, people-focused governance that enhances quality of life, fosters growth, and preserves the community values we all cherish.
