A local Mexican food chain has distributed more than 20,000 pens, pencils, sticky notes and more to 12 Valley high schools.
Phoenix-based Mesquite Fresh Street Mex made the donation as school was starting around the region.
“Mesquite Fresh Street Mex is committed to supporting the Valley’s educators and brightest minds,” said Ahmad Alatrash, co-founder of Mesquite Fresh Street Mex.
The donations to schools across the Phoenix metropolitan area within the vicinity of all nine Mesquite locations:
• Campo Verde High School, Gilbert
• Coronado High School, Scottsdale
• Chandler High School, Chandler
• Sandra Day O’ Connor High School, Phoenix
• Boulder Creek High School, Phoenix
• Jefferson Prep High School, Phoenix
• Valley Vista High School, Surprise
• Shadow Ridge High School, Surprise
• Legacy Tradition School
• Skyline High School, Mesa
• Mountain View High School, Mesa
• Mesa Academy, Mesa
“The donation of school supplies and gift certificates evidence their commitment to be a force for good in our school and community, and we are grateful to have Mesquite Fresh Street Mex as part of our Coronado Don family,” said Charles Johnson, assistant principal at Coronado High School.
This latest school supplies donation is part of Mesquite’s ongoing commitment to uplifting Valley educators and is joined by efforts such as the restaurant’s partnership with Grand Canyon University slated to renew for 2025.
