Northwest Chandler park not complete, resident says

No city officials oppose expansion

When the Chandler City Council approved the naming of a park at its Feb. 20 meeting, it marked one small milestone in what at least one resident wants to be a larger process.

The council approved the name of Orangetree for the name of a park at 2134 N. Bullmoose Drive in northwest Chandler. But while everyone involved seems to acknowledge the 1.7-acre park has some quality features and meets some local needs, there’s still an effort to make the park larger — using all or most of the 2.8-acre space, including now-vacant land to the north.

The northern half of the property is fenced off, with Orangetree Park’s playground, shade structure and playground and a small grassy area occupying the finished 1.7-acre southern half.
