Last chance for input on Chandler downtown plans

Posted

The City of Chandler is hosting its final series of public workshops for the community to give feedback on the future of the city’s downtown region.

Two workshops will include a 3D-augmented reality immersive experience lab for attendees. This will allow them to experience and interact with received input and proposed designs virtually to see how changes and future development could impact the downtown region.

The workshops will be held Friday, Nov. 15, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and  Saturday, Nov. 16, 9 a.m. to noon, at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center, 249 E. Chicago Street, downtown Chandler.

These workshops will provide the community its last opportunity to help fine-tune the vision before it is finalized.

Staff will provide a brief overview of the area plan’s update before the immersive lab experience kicks off. This updated Downtown Region Area Plan will combine two existing area plans: the South Arizona Avenue Plan, adopted in 2006 and amended in 2008; and the updated downtown portion of the Chandler Redevelopment Element, adopted in 1995.
