Kyrene district sees override potentially passing

The Kyrene School District governing board heard over 90 speakers about closing schools as presented in the Long Range Plan.

The Kyrene School District proposed override fund has been approved with over 16,8000 votes the continue the override funding that will assist with teacher salaries, classroom instructional tools, reduced class sizes and more.

Unofficial results tally over 29,000 votes with over 59% supporting the override and voting 'yes'. Over 11,600, or 40% voted 'no.'

The Maintenance and Operations Override does not ask for new funding, only to move funding to assist with other school necessities.
