John (AKA Jack) Bahr

John L. "Jack" Bahr, a beloved resident of Sun City , Arizona, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 83. Jack was survived by his wife Patricia; his sons John (Michelle) and Jan; his daughter Victoria (Kent); his grandchildren Kelvin, Mindee, Logan, Devin, and Madison; his great grandchild Dexter; his sisters Mary Varpness and Phyllis Holtz; as well as his dear friends Dick Brown, Andy Galloway, and Dave Erickson. He was predeceased by his grandson Keegan; and his sisters Margie Bartosh and Ruth Hrdlicka.

Jack was a dedicated outdoorsman who found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. Hunting and fishing were not merely hobbies for Jack; they were his passions, his way of connecting with the world around him and connecting with his friends and family that joined him.

Born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Jack formed deep bonds within his community. He was in the first graduating class of Memorial High School in Eau Claire. His warmth, humor, and generosity endeared him to all who knew him. Jack's friends were more like family, and he cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was swapping stories around a campfires fishing in Alaska or hunting in Africa.

Family meant everything to Jack. He was a devoted husband to his beautiful wife, Pat, a father and grandfather, finding immense happiness in the presence of his loved ones. His gentle guidance, unwavering support, and unconditional love will forever be cherished by his family.

Jack Bahr leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and adventure. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, Jack, and may your hunts be bountiful and your fishing lines forever taut in the great beyond.

May God appreciate Jack in heaven as much as we all appreciated him here on earth.

A funeral service for Jack will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, followed by a graveside at Phoenix Memorial Park.
