Free public tours offered of Chandler Airport

The city of Chandler is offering free guided tours of Chandler Municipal Airport.
 
The next tour is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18, with three one-hour tours available: 10–11 a.m., noon–1 p.m. and 2–3 p.m., according to a news release.
Space is limited for the tour. There will be 14 guests maximum per time slot.
 
Advanced registration is required online at chandleraz.gov/AirportTours.
This opportunity allows residents, students and aviation enthusiasts to go behind the scenes and learn more about airport operations and the airport’s role in the nation’s aviation system.
 
The tour includes a presentation from the airport’s manager, followed by an airfield overview and a brief stop at the heliport.
Upcoming tour dates include Friday, Oct. 16, Friday, Nov. 20 and Thursday, Dec. 17. Registration for the remaining fall dates will be made available three weeks in advance of each scheduled tour date.
