Dignity Health East Valley broke ground April 21 on a 45,000-square-foot medical office building in Gilbert that will be home to its graduate medical education programs.

The two-story medical office building is expected to be completed in spring 2023.

The graduate medical education programs will train physicians in key clinical areas and provide an opportunity for Dignity Health to recruit medical providers.

Arizona Diagnostic Radiology will also provide advanced medical imaging services within the new space.

“As the East Valley landscape and the families who call it home continue to grow, we are finding new ways to meet the health care needs of our neighbors,” said Mark Slyter, president and CEO of Dignity Health East Valley, in a release. “This new medical office building will allow us to further our mission of providing compassionate, expert and patient-centered care by training up-and-coming physicians and expanding outpatient imaging access.”

The new facility, called the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Medical Office Building III, will be located across the street from Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center at 3477 S. Mercy Road.
