INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
The city of Chandler’s Golden Neighbors program is back for the fall season and kicks off in September with a free gardening workshop.
It's from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Sunset Library, 4920 W. Ray Road.
Attendees will learn gardening tips, get their pick of some free seeds and learn about the health benefits that gardening brings, such as how it helps fight anxiety, stress and depression, while helping get exercise, fresh air and building a stronger immune system.
Attendees will end class by participating in an instructor-led painting activity taught by local artist Reena Patel.
Attendees will also receive a gift.
Chandler residents planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP online at this link. Attendees can also RSVP by calling Neighborhood Programs staff or 480-782-4362.
The Golden Neighbors program was created as a free resource to connect Chandler “golden” seniors with services offered by the city and local partners and to help create community.
