The Chandler Unified School District recently announced the 60 names of its 2024-25 National Merit Scholar semifinalists.

There are 21 CUSD semifinalist seniors this year who attend Arizona College Prep High School, 10 from Basha, three from Casteel, four from Chandler High, one from Chandler Online, 17 from Hamilton and four from Perry.

These CUSD students are among the top 16,000 semifinalists nationwide, selected from more than 1.6 million participants.

National Merit semifinalists represent less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors and are the highest scorers in each state. The semifinalists earned their spots through their exceptional performance on the PSAT/NMSQT and now have the opportunity to advance to the finalist level to compete for National Merit Scholarships.

In May of next year, 7,500 finalists will be selected to receive scholarships.
