Chandler school makes final 8 in reading contest

A Chandler Unified District elementary school reached the final eight in a reading contest.

Chandler Traditional Academy Freedom made the round of eight in the Read to the Final Four, a statewide literacy competition affiliated with the 2026 NCAA Women’s Final Four — the national college basketball finale that downtown Phoenix is hosting April 2-5.

CTA Freedom students were hoping to repeat the school’s Final Four appearance in the contest, like the school did in 2024 when the men’s Final Four was held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
