Chandler Police: Two-year-old boy drowned Saturday evening

Chandler Police said a 2-year-old boy drowned early on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 12, according to a news release. 

The release states Chandler Police and Fire both responded to drowning call from a neighborhood in the area between Cooper and McQueen roads on Saturday shortly before 8 p.m.

A 2-year-old boy was transported to a hospital and was and later pronounced dead, police said.

Chandler Police detectives have wrapped up their investigation and deemed the incident was "accidental in nature."

Police haven't released any other information as of the afternoon of Monday,  Oct. 14.
