Chandler JROTC cadets interview Jewish vets

Posted

Thirteen Hamilton High School Air Force JROTC students recently attended a JWV meeting where they interviewed Post 610 Jewish War Veterans to learn about their time in the military.

The community service event was created by cadet Eden Elston, working under the supervision of Lt. Col. Daniel Kline.

After the JWV monthly meeting concluded, each cadet paired up with a veteran to hear their story so they could later be able to share it with fellow cadets.

Soon after the event, an email was sent to Kline, saying the meeting was the “best ever” and that the cadets’ impact on each veteran “was tremendous."

The event brought together disparate age groups in a common appreciation for the men and women who have served the country.

Both groups seemed thrilled with the success of Elston’s project and intend to continue working closely together on a regular basis.
