Chandler Fire Department crews responded to a first-alarm house fire shortly after midnight Tuesday morning., according to the department's social media.

Chandler Fire said the home was a total loss.

The department said upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy fire throughout the house. Since no one was home at the time, the fire had a "significant head start" before neighbors called 911, the post states.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Recently, Chandler Fire has been adding a reminder to many posts about fires for residents to ensure they have working smoke detectors in their homes.

The blaze marked at least the second time in about a one-week span Chandler Fire how been called out to a significant house fire. Firefighters had more success in containing a Feb. 4 fire at a home that was fully involved upon arrival.
