Coming soon is a chance to meet Chandler people involved with economic drivers themselves and hear about the impact of arts and culture in the city.
"The Economic Impact of Arts & Culture" is the name of a Chandler Chamber of Commerce event set for Wednesday, April 24, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at SoHo63, 63 E. Boston Street in Downtown Chandler.
In 2023, the Chandler Center for the Arts completed the national Arts & Economic Prosperity Survey. The results show that arts & culture brought Chandler more than $12 million in business.
That's $12 million from gas station trips, childcare costs, and date-night restaurants. The economic impact of the arts and culture go beyond the box office.
“These dynamic events," said Terri Kimble, President & CEO of the Chandler Chamber, "not only showcase creativity but also serve as catalysts for economic growth in Chandler. Through performances, exhibitions, and festivals, they transform spaces in vibrant hubs of activity, drawing crowds and customers to surrounding businesses, bringing the community together."
Get a personal overview of the AEP6 Survey results from keynote speaker Randy Cohen, vice president of Research for Americans for the Arts (the organization that led the survey).
Other featured speakers include Kim Moyers, the cultural development director for the city of Chandler.
There's also Jody Crago, manager of the Chandler Museum, and Michelle Mac Lennan, the cultural arts manager of the Chandler Center for the Arts.
Registration for this luncheon is now open at this link. The cost is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members.
