All six candidates on the ballot for the July 21 Chandler City Council replied to five questions from Independent Newsmedia.
Incumbents Angel Encinas and Jane Poston are running for what would be second and final consecutive terms on Council, having both been elected for the first time in 2022.
Challengers Lisa Askey, Joe Granado Jr., Ron Hardin and Cicely Rocha-Miller are competing alongside Encinas and Poston for three positions on the all-at-large Council this year. If there aren’t at least three candidates who earn a state-mandated minimum percentage of the vote in the July 21 primary, those who didn’t for a maximum of four candidates would compete in a Nov. 3 runoff.
