Seven people will be celebrated for their athletic accomplishments later this month during the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon.
The event at the Hamilton High School auditorium will take place at 11 am. Saturday, Feb. 17, and honor:
Dashawn Jordan, Skateboarding
Steve Kanner, Coach, Golf
Adam Mannon, Baseball
Melissa Melhorn, Volleyball
Brock Purdy, Football
Jimmy Rogers, Coach, Football
Andrew Yun, Golf
In addition to the inductees, the Sports Hall of Fame will give special recognition awards to Billy Reed, groundskeeper, and Pat Sylvestre, equipment tech.
“This year’s phenomenal class features athletes and coaches who have set the standard for excellence. All these honorees have represented the City of Chandler and their Chandler school in a way that is second to none,” John Vincent, co-chairman of the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame Committee, said.
“From athletes competing in the Super Bowl and X Games to coaches leading their teams to championships, these seven individuals are superb.”
Tickets for the event, which includes the induction ceremony and luncheon, are $15 and available online through Eventbrite. The Hamilton High School Auditorium is located at 3700 S. Arizona Ave.
