Democrat has early lead in first report of Arizona LD 13 Senate results

Republican Julie Willoughby and Democrat Kristie O'Brien are vying for the seat being vacated by the term-limited J.D. Mesnard. Both candidates live in Chandler.

The first results are coming in for the single Senate seat up for election Nov. 3 in Arizona's 13th Legislative District.

Republican Julie Willoughby and Democrat Kristie O'Brien are vying for the seat being vacated by the term-limited J.D. Mesnard. Both candidates live in Chandler.

Early returns, posted about an hour after polls closed, show O'Brien has about a 14-point lead. She has 35,156 votes, or 57.04%, while Willoughby has 26,447 votes, or 42.91%.
