Through Tuesday, Oct. 15, you can take home a new pet from the Arizona Animal Welfare League for free.
The AAWL waives adoption fees on all animals older than 1 year at its main-Phoenix and its Chandler locations.
The main campus is at 25 N 40th Street in Phoenix, The Chandler adoption center is on the second floor of the Chandler Fashion Center's main mall.
This adoption event is sponsored through the Bisselll Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” initiative. Many local shelters are at or near full capacity.

Some pets have been with AAWL for extended periods. For example, the two dogs shown in the photo attached to this story -- Angel and Kaili -- have been with AAWL for almost 250 days, as of this writing.
