Three children started their holiday in a colorful way this week in Chandler while also benefiting the Phoenix/Maricopa County Toys for Tots campaign.
The youngsters, ages 6, 7 and 8, were randomly selected for the 64 Seconds of Color shopping spree, an annual event for Crayola, named for the brand’s well-known 64-box of crayons.
They were assisted by U.S. Marines who held onto as many items as the children could collect in just over a minute of shopping at the Chandler Fashion Center Crayola Experience store.
The store then matched the collected toys for the Toy for Tots annual effort.
Six-year-old Lelani Borame of Phoenix, Harley Dudley, 7, of Glendale, Asha Rodriguez, 8, were the shoppers. They were assisted by Marines Sgt. Anthony Orozco, Sgt. Kolten Bennett and Cpl. Rhys Williams.
