Cambria hotel, restaurants planned at Elliot, Ellsworth in Mesa

Posted

A commercial center with 18 buildings including a Cambria hotel, Discount Tire, medical offices and restaurants is to be constructed north of Elliot Road and east of Ellsworth Road in Mesa.

The landscaping and look of the development were discussed at the Feb. 14 meeting of the Mesa Design Review Board.

The site plan was approved in 2021, Staff Planner Josh Grandlienard said at the meeting.

“It is currently going under a modification in order to change the layout of the medical office buildings, things on site,” he said.

“Eighteen buildings on site, so there’s quite a few different uses. The majority of the buildings are retail or restaurant uses with medical office as well as one specific use — Discount Tire in the northwest corner of the site; as well as Cambria, which is more central located,” Grandlienard said.

Sean Lake of Pew & Lake PLC is the applicant. El Coyote LLC is the owner.

The all-volunteer Mesa Design Review Board is unique in that its composition is set by the zoning ordinance to include two architects; two from other design professions such as landscape architecture, engineering, urban planning, interior design or other design-related background; one contractor or developer; and two residents, according to the city’s website.
