Higley schools’ superintendent to resign

Dawn Foley is resigning from her post as Higley Unified School District’s superintendent, according to district documents.

The Higley Unified School District governing board will meet 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, to discuss and take action on the superintendent’s resignation, the meeting agenda shows. Also, the board will meet behind closed doors for legal advice regarding the superintendent’s contract and related issues, discussion of the superintendent’s progress toward 2022-23 goals and evaluation of Foley’s performance.

The board is also set to vote on distribution of a 2022-23 performance pay for Foley based on achievement of performance goals, the agenda shows.

Foley was named acting superintendent for Higley Unified in May 2021 following retirement of Mike Thomason; her role became official on July 1, 2021.

According to published news reports, Foley’s contract runs through June 30, 2023.
