A new medical facility near the P83 Entertainment District is getting closer to construction.
HonorHealth Medical Campus at Peoria, south of P83 next to Skunk Creek, is now in the construction documents phase of the permitting process, said Planning Manager Lorie Dever.
HonorHealth plans to build a 95,000-square-foot health care facility on 7.5 acres at the location.
The development is planned to include medical specialties such as primary care, cardiology, orthopedics, cancer research and treatment, a breast surgery clinic, urgent care and outpatient imaging, with x-ray, MRI, CT, Ultrasound and other possibilities.
"The HonorHealth medical campus at Peoria will house multiple healthcare services and clinical specialties and serve as a one-stop-shop for patients," according to a statement from HonorHealth sent to Peoria Independent.
The city of Peoria purchased the land for $2.7 million in June 2018, then city council approved the sale of the land in February 2022 for $3.43 million.
Under the purchase agreement, HonorHealth is expected to lease at least 40% of the rentable square footage for a period of not less 10 years, with other rentable space allowed to be used by complementary medical users, as well as other potential ancillary tenants, such as a café or coffee shop.
HonorHealth has six hospitals in Phoenix and Scottsdale, and subsidiary HonorHealth Medical Group has more than 70 primary, specialty and urgent care locations.
