Students in EVIT’s interior design program recently completed an interior renovation of a boutique at Mesa’s Jefferson Elementary School, 120 S. Jefferson Ave., where families in need can get clothing and other goods and supplies.
The project gave East Valley Institute of Technology students the opportunity to not only do good work using their design skills but to also do good for their community, according to a release.
The project was started last year under the leadership of Marlo Loria, director of career and technical tducation and innovative partnerships for Mesa Public Schools, and Kim Foulger, EVIT interior design instructor.
EVIT programs are tuition-free to high school students who live in 11 East Valley school districts — Mesa, Apache Junction, Queen Creek, J.O. Combs, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Higley and Cave Creek.
