Bill Meade will officially launch Fight for a Living Wage at an event open to the public at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Beanchain Coffee, 1110 W. Southern Ave. Unit No. 8 in Mesa.

Fight for a Living Wage is a new nonprofit based in Scottsdale that has a goal to establish a nonpartisan grassroots movement to increase awareness, understanding and to take action to counter the ways in which current trends in wages, corporate profits and politics are increasing the income gap in America, according to a release.

Meade, founder of Fight for a Living Wage, will talk about his path to embracing this passion; and David Baxter, Beanchain founder, will share his story about how living in poverty inspired him to find a way to help others, the release states.
