John passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023 John was born in Los Angeles to Frank and Frances Colella on December 27, 1936 He served proudly as a Los Angeles police officer for 33 years and retired as a Lieutenant. He continued to enjoy working in law enforcement and security related jobs after that. He married his high school sweetheart Vita and treasured 68 years of marriage. He enjoyed golf, his beloved USC football team, his friendships, and was most proud of his family who he is survived by: Daughter Pam and her husband Stan, Daughter Lana and her husband Pierre, Grandson Nick and his wife Shelby, Grandson JW and his wife Nicole, Great Grandchildren Kane Patrick, Brody James, Kinsley Mae and Baby Drymon arriving in March. We love you Papa. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM followed by a burial at Paradise Memorial Gardens.
