On Nov. 21 the Chicken Ranch in Surprise played host to an event to raise money to buy toys for the Marines Toys For Tots drive.

It was a successful day, raising about $800, between an auction and Santa, Bob Belibeau, and Santa’s helper Richard Harris, going out and getting donations.

Many high profile items were donated for the auction, one being a beautiful leather Harley Davidson jacket. TA beautiful Christmas decoration which went very fast. Organizers even had a new Patrice Nash handbag donated.

Another donation that will remain at the Chicken Ranch is a striking Christmas Tree, which will be on display all month. Guests are welcome to stop in and see it and bring a toy.

Santa and his helper raised money at the Chicken Ranch, Brookside II Sports Bar and Grille and also Fuzzy’s Sports Bar — all in Surprise — that day.

Toys For Tots boxes are at the Chicken Ranch, Richie’s Diner, Fuzzy’s, Brookside II and the Mule Creek Saloon. Toy donations are wanted to fill those boxes by the deadline for the toys to be picked up, which is Dec. 15. The Marines Toys For Tots drive be collecting toys from all the boxes on Dec. 14.

When boxes are left in locations there normally is a Christmas tree up for the owners as well.

Santa and his helper will be out and about one more time before the deadline.

To the folks who have help with this drive or donated, the drive’s organizers can not thank you enough.
