Surprise's bond credit rating rises with fiscal responsibility

Surprise Finance Director Sandy Simmons said the city’s strong stance on fiscal responsibility is paying off.

S&P Global Ratings raised its long-term rating to “AA+” from “AA” on Surprise’s previously issued general obligation bonds. At the same time, it raised the city’s issuer credit rating on the city to “AA+” from “AA.”
