Surprise teen helps underprivileged kids with tennis rallies

Vickneswaran, 16, organizes ‘Rally for Youth’ clinics

A top junior tennis player from Surprise, 16-year-old Anjani Vickneswaran, organized a “Rally for Youth” clinic at the Gold Key Racquet Club for kids at 12826 N. Third St., Phoenix, with a grant from the Southwest Tennis Foundation.

Vickneswaran’s goal is to hold monthly volunteer-led tennis programs for underprivileged children in the Valley and use her experience and passion for tennis to teach interested children about the sport.

“I’m so grateful to organizations like this because I was able to create opportunities and make tennis inclusive for everyone,” Vickneswaren said.
