Surprise taking names for voluntary commission spots

The city of Surprise is accepting applications for a host of commission openings.

Three positions total are open for the Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission, the Personnel Appeals Board and the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Two spots are open on the Veterans, Disability and Human Services Commission.

And one opening is available for the Audit Committee, the Board of Trustees – Health Benefits Trust Fund Board and the Library Advisory Commission.

The terms for each one except the Library Commission run through June 30, 2029. The Library Commission term runs through June 30, 2027.

All board/commission positions are voluntary. To serve on a board/commission, applicants must reside within Surprise.

Submit a completed application by email to clerk@surpriseaz.gov, mail or hand deliver from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at Surprise City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.

Applications will be kept on file for future vacancies.
