As graduations happen throughout the Valley, social media was recently abuzz with comments about a Surprise charter school.
The Legacy Traditional School — West Surprise campus was thrust into the spotlight from an attempted stabbing that happened in October in which a school resource officer and student was credited for diffusing a dangerous situation.
As of press time, there was no update received from SPD, which is undergoing a leadership change following the recent retirement of Chief Benny Piña, who had commended “brave students” at the campus and the school resource officer.
