Surprise mapping out its transportation future

First master plan in the works to guide future growth of city

When the Surprise City Council met earlier this year to discuss strategic plan priorities, transportation came in as a top one right after public safety.

So, in an effort to literally map out where the city wants to go with its transportation future, the council has asked for a transportation master plan.

That effort kicked off in April for what Vice Mayor Jack Hastings called an “absolute need.”
