Surprise high school students design, race solar go-karts

The Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation’s (SARSEF) Racing the Sun program featured hands-on competition with teams designing and racing solar-powered go-karts.

Shadow Ridge High School students earned recognition through the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation’s (SARSEF) Racing the Sun program.

The hands-on competition has teams designing and racing solar-powered go-karts.

At the April 25 event, the team distinguished itself statewide. It earned the Grand Champion Maker title along with honors for outstanding presentations, showcasing exceptional engineering, teamwork and innovation.
