Surprise gearing up for primary season, summer elections

Vote Center now open at City Hall

The Vote Center is now open at Surprise City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza, for the March 19 presidential primary.

Only voters who are registered Democrat or Republican are eligible to participate in the election. Other voting locations across the county and hours can be found at locations.maricopa.vote.

This summer’s primary election has been moved up to Tuesday, July 30.

On the ballot in Surprise will be races for mayor and council seats in Districts 2, 3 and 4, plus the 2040 General Plan.

The last day for candidates to turn in nominating petitions is Monday, April 1.

Ballot arguments may be submitted until May 1 at surpriseaz.gov/elections.

The last day to register for the primary is July 1.

City Hall will serve as a vote center from July 3 through election day.

Additional voting locations in Surprise are the Asante Library and the Surprise Senior Center. They will also serve as Vote Centers on July 29 and 30.
