Surprise Council decides to speed up development process

Site plans, preliminary plats to move faster

Commercial development projects in Surprise will be brought to market faster after the Surprise City Council voted to eliminate a couple of steps in the process.

Major site plans, which now go through Planning and Zoning approval, will be handled by the community development director.

Also, preliminary plats, which the city council now approves, will be taken over by the P&Z as the approval body.
