Pruning is topic of next Surprise landscaping workshop

Surprise residents can learn about tree pruning at the city’s next landscaping workshop 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at Surprise Water Education Center, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza.

Improper pruning stresses trees and puts them at risk for disease. Certified Master Gardener George Reconco will discuss best practices for pruning shrubs and trees.

Attendees will even get a few pointers on how to select the right plant for the right place, which will also reduce the need for pruning.
